Action Design Miami
Action Design Miami
Action Design Miami is a group of designers, developers, entrepreneurs, economists and others who are passionate about helping people create positive change in their lives.
We sit at the intersection of technology (UI / UX, data science), psychology (behavioral economics, positive psychology), and advocacy, and we focus on exposing our members to cutting edge tools, research, and practitioners in each of these areas so they can apply the latest learning in action design in their respective fields.
Whether the goal is to help people save more money, get in shape, cut down on electricity usage, or learn a new language, the idea is the same: how can we use research in behavioral economics and psychology to help users build habits and change their daily behavior? Each month, we’ll have a new behavioral researcher or practitioner share the work they’re doing.
About Action Design Network
The Action Design Network is a non-profit organization founded in December 2012 to promote the use of behavioral economics and psychology in product design. The group has quickly grown to 3,500 members with monthly events in 6 cities (DC, NYC, SF, Boston, Chicago, Miami), and continues to grow.
Each month, speakers share research findings and practical lessons about how to help the users voluntarily change daily routines and behavior. Just contact us if you’d like to host Action Design events in your city.
The Action Design Network also hosts the Design for Action Conference, started in 2014 to bring together the best designers and researchers from around the country to share their techniques. You can learn more at designforaction.org
The Action Design Network is an all-volunteer organization. Our President is behavioral scientist Dr. Stephen Wendel, and our officers are Justin Howell, Daniel Kahn, Abby Milberg, and Zarak Khan.
If you are applying behavioral economics or psychology to products that help users take action in their daily lives, we want to hear from you.
If you’re a researcher doing cool stuff that UX and product people need to hear about, tell us.
We’re always looking for great speakers and workshops for our DC, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Miami, or SF Meetups, and for our annual conference, Design for Action
Please just drop us a line and tell us what you’d like to speak about!
